Sara Karnes, MD
Dr. Sara Karnes, board certified psychiatrist, earned her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine New Orleans and completed her residency from the LSU Adult Psychiatry Residency Program in New Orleans. Prior to medical school, she graduated from Tulane University and earned prestigious Tulane 34 award for distinguished achievement throughout her college career. She is currently faculty at the LSU Health Sciences Center’s Department of Psychiatry where she trains psychiatry residents.
Dr. Karnes’s expertise includes medication management and lifestyle modifications for ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety and thought disorders. She aims to optimize her patients’ quality of life through education, guidance, and collaboration.
In her leisure time, she enjoys physical activity and discovering culinary wonders. She also revels in the beautiful New Orleans history and scenery.
